It adds that an application submitted before January 1, 2026 can be submitted under the 2022 code cycle and remain active under it as long as the application or permit does not expire. The California Building Standards Commission's 2025 code includes the California Residential Code (Part 2.5) and the California Mechanical Code (Part 4).
